Crispy Fried Bitter Gourd Chips Recipe

Crispy fried bitter gourd, made with chilli powder, turmeric powder, sliced bitter gourd and salt.
As bitter as they are, bitter gourd is packed with healthy nutrients. Its natural bitterness acts as a remedy for managing blood sugar levels and supporting digestive health. When sliced thinly and fried, the bitterness mellows, turning into crispy fried bitter gourd chips, a favorite snack or accompaniment for an Indian rice meals (CRISPY FRIED CAULIFLOWER).

Types of Bitter Gourd Chips
Bitter gourd chips can be made simply with turmeric powder and salt. 
For a spicier version, add chili powder or curry powder.

Cooking Tips for Crispy Fried Bitter Gourd

To reduce bitterness, soak sliced bitter gourd in salt water for 10 minutes, then squeeze out excess water.

 

Before frying, give the slices a light squeeze to remove any remaining moisture.

 

While frying, stir frequently and watch carefully to avoid burning.

 

Store the chips in an airtight container to retain crunchiness.

Ingredients for Crispy Fried Bitter Gourd
5 bitter gourds - sliced thinly
1 tbsp plain chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
*Mix these ingredients together
Oil for frying

How to Make Bitter Gourd Chips 
Heat oil. 
Fry bitter gourd mixture in batches till crispy..
Drain excess oil on kitchen paper. 
Sliced bitter gourds, atop with chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
