Crispy Fried Prawns Recipes: Oats & Cereal Coated

Cooking prawns is a fun adventure, and with Zen Cuisine, it’s all about creativity (CHINESE PRAWN RECIPES). Today, I’m sharing two crispy prawn recipes that bring a perfect balance of oats and cereal - Crispy Fried Oats-Coated Prawns and Crispy Fried Prawns with Cereal. These dishes are the ultimate crunch, delivering happiness with every bite. After all, food is more than just sustenance - it’s a little moment of joy on a plate (FRIED PRAWN WANTON)

Crispy Fried Oats-Coated Prawns

Ingredients
10 medium-sized prawns (de-vein, leave the tail on, and pat dry)
A pinch of salt
Some crushed black pepper


Other Ingredients

1 egg white, whisked lightly

1/2 cup (or more) rolled oats

Oil for frying


Method

Toss prawns in egg white.

Roll each prawn in oats and deep fry until golden.

Serve with chili sauce or your dip of choice.

Crispy Fried Prawns with Cereal

Ingredients

A

15 medium-sized prawns (de-vein, snip half the head, and leave the shell on)

1 tbsp rice flour

1 egg yolk

Mix these ingredients together


B

5 garlic cloves, chopped

2 tbsp salted butter

3 tbsp cereal, lightly crushed

3-4 sprigs of basil or curry leaves

5-6 birds-eye chilies, bruised

Lime Juice as needed

Salt to taste


Method

Heat butter and fry the prawns until crispy and golden. 

Set aside.

In the same butter, fry garlic until golden brown.

Add cereal, prawns, basil, chilies, lime juice and salt.
