Bharat Spice: Indian Cuisine Flavors and Experiences in Kota Kemuning
Yet
another Sunday dedicated to our food explorations, and this time, we stayed
local in Kota Kemuning (Asian Fusion Seafood & Kalyana Virunthu Cafe). Our destination was the recently opened "Bharat
Spice," a fresh addition that has taken over the space formerly known as
Saffron Spice. Surprisingly, not much has changed - the ambiance retains its
familiar feel, and even the menu seems to be a recycled version of the one from
Saffron Spice.
As the first two customers, with another
patron awaiting their takeaway, the menu was presented promptly. However, my
partner found himself in a prolonged debate on what to order, leaving me in
suspense for nearly 15 minutes. I had to intervene gently to remind him to
decide. Eventually, we opted for Mutton Dum Biryani (RM28.90), accompanied by a
side of Pani Puri (RM10.00). For beverages, we settled on plain water (RM1.00). In just 10 minutes, our table was graced
with the flavorful Mutton Biryani, served with a curry and yogurt salad. Upon
inquiring about a curry change due to my partner's aversion to chicken, we
received different explanations, creating a bit of confusion while we were
already enjoying the biryani.
Nevertheless, the biryani impressed with its
aromatic spices and tender mutton pieces within the grainy rice. I even told
them not to worry about the replacement curry, yet a dhal curry arrived as a
substitution.
The Pani Puri, featuring crispy hollow
fried flour balls filled with a potato mixture, mint chutney, and tamarind
chutney, was a delightful surprise and truly worth trying.
Despite minor
hiccups, the overall customer service left a positive impression, making this
dining experience one to be cherished.
