in the city, each with its own charm and story to tell.
Christiansborg Palace
Our journey through Copenhagen began with a glimpse of the majestic Christiansborg Palace. Once the residence of Danish royalty, the palace now serves as the seat of Denmark’s Parliament, Supreme Court, and Prime Minister's office. Although we only viewed it from the outside, the palace’s grandeur and historical significance left a lasting impression on all of us.
Langelinie (Copenhagen Harbour Promenade)
Next, we ventured to Langelinie, a picturesque waterfront promenade offering beautiful gardens and park walkways. It was the perfect place to relax (HA LONG BAY: BOAT CRUISE) and enjoy Copenhagen's charm. A short stroll along the waterfront led us to one of the city’s most iconic landmarks: The Little Mermaid statue. This beloved sculpture has been a symbol of Copenhagen since 1913, created by artist Edvard Eriksen and modeled after ballerina Ellen Price. Surrounded by tourists from around the world, we had to navigate through the crowds for a chance to snap a photo of this iconic figure.

With time running short, we had to forgo the canal tours, but we were delighted by our visit to Churchill Park. Here, we marveled at the magnificent Gefion Fountain, which stands as a testament to Danish artistic and historical pride. The fountain, inaugurated in 1908 to celebrate Carlsberg Brewery’s 50th anniversary, features the Nordic goddess Gefion and her four oxen. It was a peaceful and awe-inspiring spot, especially with no other visitors around.

A visit to Carlsberg Brewery is a must for any Copenhagen visitor. With its legendary status, it’s like stepping into a beer lover’s paradise. The brewery tour took us through its rich history and the beer-making process, providing a deep dive into one of Denmark’s most iconic brands. Although I typically avoid drinking while traveling, I enjoyed the experience and passed my beer coupons to others, opting instead for a refreshing soft drink while taking in the lively atmosphere.
