Bee Ho Ho Steamboat: Bandar Rimbayu

"Curious about our food adventure at Bee Ho Ho Steamboat (Rimbayu Branch)? Sit back, relax, and enjoy the video".

We were actually looking for another coffee shop in Rimbayu, but despite using WhatsApp, mmm, we couldn’t locate it. Assumingly, it doesn’t exist anymore. At that juncture, as we took a turn, the road led us to a place where the signboard of Bee Ho Ho Steamboat caught our attention. It must be a steamboat spot during the later part of the day, but in the earlier hours, it operates as a kopitiam-style eatery, featuring a variety of hawker food fare (CHINESE CHICKEN GINGSENG SOUP RECIPE).

Located in a corner lot - which is rather common for such coffee shops or kopitiams- I was particularly drawn to the orange color on the façade, which also happens to be part of Nava’s Zen color theme.

Arriving for brunch, or what could be regarded as an early lunch, at around 11:00 a.m., we found that some breakfast items were no longer available. The traders were still around, though, with whatever balance of their offerings remained.

Walking along the right-side walkway, where the stalls are, I opted for the chee cheong fun with curry, while my lunch companion chose the prawn mee. According to my companion, the prawn mee stall had previously been located around Kota Kemuning, where we are staying.

It wasn’t a long wait before our order arrived. The chee cheong fun items were fresh, and the fried ones were wonderfully crispy. However, I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t enough curry. Upon enquiring, I was told they had run out. Never mind - it was still appreciated.

The prawn mee, on the other hand, was raved about by my lunch companion, who loved the spicy dip that added a fiery kick (HOKKIEN HAE MEE/PRAWN MEE RECIPE). The thick, dark broth contained yellow noodles, mee hoon, a halved egg, and seafood fish balls.

Overall, it was worth the try. Perhaps we’ll return to try their steamboat.
