Kopitiam Number One Rimbayu: Hawker Food Worth Trying?
It was yet another recommendation for us to try a
different Kopitiam - Kopitiam Number One Rimbayu (Teluk Panglima Garang, Selangor), a branch of Kopitiam Number One Seri Muda. Like most kopitiams in
Malaysia, this one was located on a corner lot. Parking was a breeze,
especially since we arrived early, just before 11:30 AM, to secure a table. As
soon as we walked in, my handphone camera was already in action, capturing the
scene (PENANG MAINLAND FOOD ADVENTURES).

YouTube Shorts Video to see our food adventure at Kopitiam Number One Rimbayu
before I share more.
Inside,
customers were already busy tucking into their meals. My hub quickly decided on
Seafood Fried Rice, though the hawker food selection wasn’t very wide. As for
me, my eyes went straight to the Roasted Pork stall near the entrance. Since I
was recommended to try their siew yoke (crispy roasted pork) over char siew
(sweet barbecued pork), I went for it (EASY INSTANT BAK KUT TEH RECIPE).
For drinks, we
shared a glass of Chinese tea. It wasn’t long before my plate of roasted pork
with rice, a spicy dip, and a bowl of soup (RM10.00) arrived. The roasted pork
had a good crisp and flavorful bite, though the portion was on the smaller
side. The pork fat added that rich texture, making each bite satisfying.
The
rice and soup? Nothing much to shout about - I barely had a spoonful of the soup
- but the spicy dip helped bring out the flavors. A bit more heat would have
made it even better. I was tempted to order another round - just the roasted
pork - but I held back.
My hub, on the
other hand, fully enjoyed his Seafood Fried Rice. A substantial portion,
finished to the last grain. He liked that it had the right balance of spiciness,
saltiness, and texture - not too dry or too mushy, just how a good plate of
fried rice should be (EASY VEGGIE FRIED RICE RECIPE).
Is Kopitiam
Number One Rimbayu worth visiting? Maybe. For now, we won’t be rushing back
unless they expand their menu with something unique that sets them apart from
other kopitiams and Chinese coffeeshops.
