CUK Bakery & Café, with CUF short for Cikgu
Una, is located in Bandar Rimbayu, Telok Panglima Garang, Selangor. The moment
I stepped in, I was drawn to the ambiance. Though the space is limited - it’s a
single lot, rather compact, with minimal space between tables - the rustic
décor, cleanliness, and cozy setting make it warm and inviting. What made it
even more endearing was the staff’s friendly nature. Their genuine smiles and
welcoming attitude added to the comfort as I waited for my lunch companion.
A video is
attached below on my food journey at CUF Bakery & Café, which covers tips
on mindful eating, making healthy choices, and how you can go about it when
dining out or in such cafes.
Ordering is
self-service, so once my lunch companion arrived, we headed straight to the
counter. Choosing from the menu was straightforward, but the desserts? That was
a different story (EFFORDLESS BANANA DESSERTS RECIPES). Each one looked tempting, beautifully arranged on the
glass-covered shelf. Cookies were also available for sale.
After some
deliberation, we ordered:
Chicken
Buttermilk (RM13.90)
Spaghetti Aglio
Olio Seafood (RM17.90)
Croissant
Ribbon (RM13.00)
Spanish Latte
(RM13.00)
BTS Cream Latte
(RM12.90)
The
selection isn’t extensive, but it offers enough variety to satisfy different
cravings (PENANG FOOD GUIDE). More importantly, they hire and train crew members with disabilities.
Seeing the notice about this truly made me appreciate CUF Bakery & Café
even more.
It wasn’t long
before our food arrived. The Chicken Buttermilk featured flour-coated fried
chicken pieces in a thick buttermilk sauce, topped with crispy fried curry
leaves and a sprinkle of chili flakes. The portion was generous - hearty, even
- paired with rice and a side salad. Satisfying in every spoonful, with flavors that shouldn’t be overlooked.
The Spaghetti
Aglio Olio Seafood was a well-balanced mix of fresh seafood, al-dente
spaghetti, cheese, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and chili flakes. The flavors were just right - nothing
overwhelming - making it a worth praising and comforting,
enjoyable dish.
As for the
cappuccinos, both variants had slight twists but stayed true to their essence.
Nothing extraordinary, yet as cappuccino lovers, we appreciated them for what
they were.
For dessert,
the Croissant Ribbon stood out. The pink cream filling added a layer of
indulgence, making it far more exciting than a plain croissant. Paired with
meringue, strawberry and two blackberries atop, it was a sinful, guilty pleasure - one
that effortlessly soothed a sugar craving. We took our time, savoring in bit by bit, until there was nothing left on the plate (INDIAN DESSERTS RECIPES).
If you ever
find yourself in Bandar Rimbayu, CUF Bakery & Café is worth experiencing.
